Ceramic coating prices in Colchester

Ceramic coating cost in Colchester varies with your car's paint condition, its size and how much preparation it needs — so we quote every car individually. What affects the price

Four things move the figure more than anything else:

  • Paint condition. Swirls, scratches, oxidation and water-spot etching all need machine polishing before coating. A well-kept car needs less of it; a neglected one needs more. We assess this honestly — we will not sell you correction you do not need.
  • Correction needed. This is the biggest variable. A light single-stage enhancement is a different job from multi-stage correction on heavily swirled paint. See our paint correction page for what the stages mean.
  • Vehicle size. A small hatchback has a lot less painted surface than a large SUV or van. Bigger cars take more product and more time.
  • Existing coating removal. If your car already has a ceramic coating or dealer-applied sealant that needs stripping first, that adds preparation time. Tell us what is on the car when you enquire.

What's included in a typical detail

Every coating job starts with the same foundation, whatever the package: a thorough wash, tar and iron-fallout decontamination, paint inspection under proper lighting, machine polishing to the agreed level, panel wipe-down, the coating itself applied panel by panel, and a cure schedule explained before you collect the car.

What changes between packages is the depth of machine polishing, the coating tier and whether extras like wheels, glass and trim are included. Your quote will spell out exactly what your price covers.

Pricing questions

Why don't you publish prices?
Because paint condition, vehicle size and the preparation needed all change the figure. A fixed price published online is either inflated to cover the worst case or stripped of the preparation your car actually needs. A firm written quote for your specific car is the only honest figure.

How do I get an exact quote?
Call 07778 902278 or use the quote form on our contact page with your car's make, model and year, and tell us what bothers you about the paintwork. We come back with a firm written price — no obligation.

Will a new car cost less to coat than a used car?
Usually, yes — a delivery-mileage car typically needs little or no machine polishing, so the preparation is lighter. Send us the details and we will price it on what the car actually needs.

Do you take a deposit?
We will confirm deposit and payment terms with your quote. The deposit policy is being finalised — ask us when you enquire and we will put it in writing.

Is the cheapest quote always the best deal?
No. Compare what is actually included: how many stages of preparation, whether machine polishing is in the price, and what the warranty terms say in writing. A cheap quote that skips preparation is expensive in the long run.

Does an existing ceramic coating affect the price?
It can. If a previous coating needs removing before we can start, that adds preparation time. Tell us about any previous coatings or dealer-applied protection when you ask for a quote.
